Our Hand Saddle Stitch John Patrick MK II Leather Journal is handcrafted and made from some of the finest leathers in the world to last a life time. Each journal is individually cut, hand saddle stitched, and finished by hand. The John Patrick Leather Journal is perfect to keep your daily notes. Our journals are crafted with an integrated pen loop that locks the cover when closed. Best part is you will always have your pen readily available.
This journal cover is made from the finest Oil Tan leather made to last. Oxbow Leather sources the finest leathers and some leathers are unique or take a while to come back into stock.
Hand Saddle Stitch is a stitching method where each hole in the leather is first chiseled. The saddle stitch involves using one long thread with a needle on both ends and take many hours to complete. The stitching is all done by hand and the result is a beautiful stitch that will last a life time. We use Ritza Tiger, imported from Germany. This lightly waxed thread is UV resistant, durable, braided polyester with a high breaking strength. When hand-sewing, Ritza Tiger Thread will lie flat against the leather, allowing for even more durability.
Our leather covers are sized and include a 5″ x 8.25″ Classic Hardcover Notebook Journal. When you have filled your notes, simply replace the paper and you are all set to go. Replacement Hardcover paper notebooks (size 5″ x 8.25″) are readily available at any office supply store or on Amazon.
Our leather journal covers come with a classic (128 page – 64 sheets) 5″ x 8.25″ journal notebook. You can upgrade to the premium Moleskine® Journal notebook for an additional fee.
